***Due to Covid-19, we will not be implementing Flexible Seating this school year. Please ignore the information below 😦

I implement flexible seating in an effort to make my classroom more student-centered. Students are able to choose their seat each day, but must follow my expectations or they will be moved. They cannot choose the same spot two days in a row so that everyone has an equal opportunity.

There has been considerable research on the benefits of students being able to move around for their health and fitness. The research suggests that it helps their brains too! The top 10 benefits of a flexible seating classroom include: choice, physical health, comfort, community, collaboration, commitment to learning, communication, sensory input, and last of all…fun!
